The Fine Arts Advisory Board began in 1978 with 12 members and has expanded to 20. The board is dedicated to promoting the growth, development and excellence of the School and University. Among the board’s objectives are:
To advance the growth of programs by endorsing excellence in teaching, research and service; by seeking recognition for the students, faculty and staff; and by serving in an advisory capacity to the Dean of the School;
To encourage increased interest in the arts throughout the state and greater Kansas City communities, and particularly the activities of the School;
To promote relationships with arts groups in the state and greater Kansas City communities;
To assist the School in securing external funding for scholarships, faculty development, facilities and programs;
To identify, encourage and support outstanding fine arts students from communities across Kansas who are enrolled in Fine Arts at the University.
